When it comes down to the Mortal Kombat series is was nice to know that Midway had decided to something that was somewhat innovative with their games during the early 00’s. When Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks was released around the mid 00’s there were some people who were hardcore fans of the series who were impressed by the concept of the game itself. Generally, when it comes down to Mortal Kombat games we usually get head to head fighting titles. Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks was cool because it was more of a beat em up type of game that included many of the elements that made head to head fighting titles a success in the past. When it comes down to gameplay that plot focuses mainly on the main character Liu Kang and his brother Kung Lao along with their quest to stop the sorcerer Shang Tsung from conquering the Earthrealm. When it comes down to actual gameplay on of the defining features of the Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is the co-op mode which allows up to two players.
Even though, Liu Kang and Kung Lao are the only playable characters in Mortal Komabt: Shaolin Monks there are so many characters who were popular in the MK II & III series who are included in this game as bosses. Also, Shaolin Monks provides players with a better understanding about the events following Mortal Kombat I going into MK II & III. Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks was a pretty unique game in the series and was one that many people believe should get a direct sequel. Its a well known fact that Midway does not make too many beat em up titles for the Mortal Kombat series. Even though, Shaolin Monks is not the best Mortal Kombat title that Midway has released it was definitely exciting enough for people to want a sequel for the game in the future.
