There has been talk among many fans of the Mortal Kombat series on whether or not there will actually be a sequel to the tenth installment of the the series.  As of right now many people are expecting Netherrealm Studios to release a new game quite possibly in 2018.    But as of right now in early 2017 we do not know too much about Mortal Kombat XI other than the events following the climax to most recent game Mortal Kombat X.  Between Mortal Kombat IX & X there have been some interesting plot twists coupled with intriguing developments as far as the storyline is concerned.   Not only has Shinnok been defeated by Cassie Cage but we also discover that Raiden has become corrupt and has lost his title as the guardian of the Earthrealm. After being upset with the Elder Gods Raiden decides to seize control of the Netherrealm and eventually declares war on them by attacking Outworld.

The idea of having some of the top characters in the series such as: Liu Kang, Kitana and Raiden who were heroes  since the beginning of the series as the main villains is something that many people did not expect a few years ago when Mortal Kombat IX was released.  Also, the fact that we got new characters such as: Cassie Cage, Kung Jin, D’vorah, Kortal Kahn, Erron Black and others made Mortal Kombat X that much better because it contributed to making the storyline more interesting.  In terms of delivery the Mortal Kombat series has never been a let down and even though many people probably don’t to admit it they are very anxious to see a sequel for MK X in the near future.
