dragonball-z-budokai-3

If you grew up during the 2000’s and was a fan of the fighting genre of gaming then you most likely are familiar with the  Dragon Ball Z Budokai series for the PlayStation 2.  The Dragonball Z Budokai series had originated in 2002 and continued up until 2004 before switching over into the Tenkaichi games  during 2005.  While some people would probably prefer the Teckaichi series more Budokai I through III were also very fun titles to play  for the PlayStation 2 during the early 00’s.  Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 had such awesome cel-shaded graphics along with nice 3D gameplay where players can pull off all types of special moves in detail as seen in the television series.  Similar to first Dragon Ball Z Budokai title this game includes various seasons from the series including the Saiyan, Namek, Frizea, Android and Cell saga.  In addition to those arcs the Buu saga is also included in this game similar to its predecessor featured in Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2.   Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 also features new characters that were not present in the predecessor including Broly, Omega Shenron and Bardock.

Along with those characters Dragon Ball Z included many of its popular characters from every other game including Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo along with the main villains such as Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu  and others.  Dragon ball Z Budokai 3 was probably one of the first 3D games in the series to feature overworld travel where players can fly around the world to not only look for Dragon Balls but to initiate battles with various opponents to progress throughout the game in a story mode.  Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 was an unforgettable classic for the PlayStation 2 mostly because the game felt like it was miles ahead of the original Budokai game both mechanically and visually.  Even though, Dimps corporation had developed some very cool Dragon Ball Z games during the early 2000’s for the PlayStation 2 the games would only continue to improve as time progressed especially with the Xenoverse series which many people think is awesome.

  1. Played the hell out of the first one at university. Don’t think I played any of the others though. Looks like I missed out on this one.
