As everyone knows Resident Evil Requiem is set to be released on current generation game systems like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27th of 2026. Its one of the most highly anticipated horror games of 2026 yet there have been rumors flying around about Resident Evil 10 being in early development under Capcom. According to a reliable leaker named Dusk Golem Capcom plans of releasing a Resident Evil 10 game sometime around 2029 most likely for the PlayStation 6. Along with an upcoming Resident Evil game Dusk Golem implied that a remake for other classics like Code Veronica and Resident Evil 0 are expected to be released between 2027-2028. Capcom knows that Konami is doing everything they can to help the Silent Hill series get its mainstream appeal back and is pulling out all the stops to attract gamers with the Resident Evil franchise. While some believe that making Resident Evil 10 a PlayStation 6 exclusive would a smart idea others believe that it could harm the game’s overall sales. The cost of gaming especially consoles and controllers are far more expensive than they were a decade ago. There are many people who currently have access to a PlayStation 5 and PC gaming is extremely popular right now.

Making Resident Evil 6 a PlayStation 6 exclusive could backfire significantly especially depending on how Resident Evil 9 performs in sales after its release. Also, Capcom is considered to be a third-party video game developer and publisher so having any future Resident Evil games on just one console would be considered a bad business move. While Resident Evil 9 sees Grace AshCroft as the main protagonist along with the returning Leon S. Kennedy its been rumored that RE10 is expected to focus more on new characters. Its also been reported that Capcom also plans on focusing on a completely new storyline. The older more popular characters of the Resident Evil series were among the main reasons why the series was still an attraction. It seemed like no one cared about Resident Evil Requiem when it was first announced until it was revealed that Leon would be returning. If Capcom has no plans on bring back old characters or continuing past storylines then making Resident Evil 10 a PS6 exclusive would definitely be a horrible idea. Its uncertain on whether or not Grace AshCroft will return in Resident Evil 10 despite her being a brand new character. However, it should be noted that Ethan Winters was featured in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village so its possible that Grace AshCroft could be in RE10 in future.
