Its hard to believe that its been 25 years since Capcom vs SNK Millennium Fight was released for Dreamcast. Capcom vs SNK was a title hardcore gamers wanted to see throughout the 90’s and felt like a dream come true once it actually happened. Capcom vs SNK Millennium Fight 2000 originally featured around 30 characters which were split among both companies. The roster of characters featured big names like Ryu, Terry Bogard, Geese Howard, Ken Masters, M. Bison, Morrigan Aensland, Chun-Li, Mai Shiranui and many others. A crossover game of this magnitude was something that felt inevitable especially considering the fact that were games like X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom came before Capcom vs SNK. It should also be noted that Capcom vs SNK Millennium Fight 2000 came out the same year that Marvel vs Capcom 2 was released in arcade centers. While Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes was clearly a bigger attraction Capcom vs SNK Millennium Fight was more unique because it felt closer to King of Fighters in terms of team-based fighting. One of the coolest features about the game was that SNK characters had brand new sprites that were drawn by Capcom.

Capcom vs SNK Millennium Fight 2000 also had a Groove System that determined players fighting style and included a ratio system which was an indicator of a character’s strength. Capcom vs SNK Millennium Fight was one of those games that kinda flew under the radar during the 2000’s mainly because it was more popular on Dreamcast which considered a commercial failure. By the year 2000 more people were paying attention to the PlayStation 2 and focusing on 3D games which was probably one of the reasons why Capcom vs SNK Millennium Fight 2000 lacked mainstream appeal. The despite not being a massive sales success the Capcom vs SNK Millennium Fight 2000 is very hard to find in used video game stores nowadays. Even though, we got a Capcom vs SNK 2 the following year in 2001 we sadly never got a Capcom vs SNK 3 a game that people have been waiting to see for over two decades now.
