Its hard to believe that its been 15 years since Fallout: New Vegas was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Fallout: New Vegas is often regarded as one of if not the best installment within its own series. Fallout: New Vegas was probably the only entry within its franchise that had a higher replay value than Fallout 3 from 2008. Fallout: New Vegas was set in the early part of the 23rd century in a fictional post-apocalyptic wasteland known as Mojave Desert. The grim open-world environment in Fallout: New Vegas was a result of a nuclear war which destroyed a majority of America 200 years prior to the start of the game. Fallout: New Vegas provided players with at least 100 base weapons and was deeply choice driven which added to its overall appeal as a RPG. New Vegas had four different endings and various factors including what type of karma you had and the choices you made determined which one you got.

One of the more interesting things about New Vegas was the fact that it was set only four years after its prequel Fallout 3 which was in 2277. Fallout: New Vegas was quite possibly one of the best games from the 2010’s to be published by Bethesda Softworks along with Elder Scroll’s: Skyrim from 2011. On a commercial level Fallout: New Vegas was a massive success reaching over eleven million copies in sales. Despite, its massive success New Vegas failed to surpass Fallout 3 which sold over twelve million. It should also be noted that Fallout 4 which came out in 2015 sold more than double of that of New Vegas reaching at least 25 million copies during the PS4/Xbox One generation. Fallout: New Vegas is one of those games that deserved a current generation 4K remake for the longest time. As of right now Fallout 5 is not expected to be released until the 2030’s which gives Bethesda plenty of time to remake Fallout: New Vegas for the PlayStation 5, PC along with the Xbox Series X. Fallout: New Vegas is a classic from two generations ago that was ahead of its time and a game that has stood the test of time within the past fifteen years.
