Its hard to believe that its been 25 years since Tomb Raider Chronicles came out for the original PlayStation console in 2000. Tomb Raider: Chronicles was the sequel to the Last Revelation game that came out in 1999. The most interesting thing about Tomb Raider: Chronicles was that it focused more on past events of Lara Croft’s life opposed to the present time period within the game. In Tomb Raider: Chronicles Lara Croft was assumed to be dead and the story was not quite as captivating as the previous entries. While some believe that the adventure aspect of Tomb Raider: Chronicles was fun there were others who were fond of its visual presentation. The voice acting and cutscenes in Tomb Raider: Chronicles were also strong positives along with the variety of weapons that players could use as Lara Croft. Tomb Raider: Chronicles included weapons such as: Shotguns, Revolvers, Uzis and Pistols.

Even though, Tomb Raider: Chronicles managed to sell over 1.4 million copies on the PS1 many fans of the series have polarizing opinions about this title. While the visuals in Tomb Raider: Chronicles looked good for its time it still looked blocky. If anything Tomb Raider: Chronicles would of been better as a PS2 exclusive considering the fact that it came out in 2000. The fantastic level designs and eerie atmosphere in Tomb Raider: Chronicles felt different from previous entries. Also, the main villain in Dark Chronicles Sergei Mikhailov was not nearly as iconic as other antagonists like Jacqueline Natla, Ana or even her own Doppleganger. While many believe that Tomb Raider: Chronicles was underrated it sadly did not have the level of mainstream appeal that some of the earlier installments had.
