WWE Day of Reckoning 2 is quite possibly one of the most underrated pro wrestling games of all-time. WWE Day of Reckoning 2 came out on GameCube back in 2005 back when World Wrestling Entertainment was in the Ruthless Aggression Era. WWE Day of Reckoning 2 was a sequel to its ’04 predecessor and featured improved gameplay mechanics. The story of WWE Day of Reckoning 2 followed the events from the previous game and allowed players to create their own custom wrestler for the mode similar to the first game. The story saw players on the Raw Brand after losing the World Title and eventually being framed for stealing the World Title after it goes missing. Not only do players get punished and sent over to Smackdown to work their way up the ranks but they eventually end up discovering the culprit who stole the Raw World Heavyweight Championship. WWE Day of Reckoning 2 had a star studded roster featuring the likes of Triple H, Undertaker, John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton, Edge, Chris Jericho, Trish Stratus and more.

WWE Day of Reckoning 2 similar to its predecessor also featured Legends including “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart and more. The gameplay mechanics for DOR2 felt more robust compared to its predecessor because it had featured a more complex submission system. WWE Day of Reckoning 2 also featured a Limb Damage system similar to the first few Smackdown vs Raw video games that appeared on the PS2. The stamina system including in Day of Reckoning 2 was also a nice touch because it added more realism to the overall gameplay. The momentum system used in DOR1 made a return in Day of Reckoning 2 and was something that was praised by gamers and critics because it kept the spirit of older pro wrestling games like WCW/NWO Revenge and WWF No Mercy for the N64 alive. WWE Day of Reckoning 2 similar to its prequel had a variety of different match types including Single, Tag-Team, Triple Threat, Fatal 4 Way, Cage, Hell in a Cell, Ladder and TLC. Despite, not being a massive sales success WWE Day of Reckoning 2 was always a game that hardcore pro wrestling fans wanted to see a sequel for. Most likely, DOR3 never happened because of poor sales along with Nintendo moving on to the Wii console in 2006.
