Its hard to believe that Devil May Cry 3 came out fifteen years ago on the PlayStation 2. Devil May Cry 3 was a game that came out during on of Capcom’s best years during the 2000’s. Devil May Cry 3 came out in 2005 the same year Capcom released the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 4 game. Devil May Cry 3 is a game that many would argue is the best installment within its series. DMC3 had almost everything you could ask for in a action-adventure game including a great storyline that involved the main protagonist Dante trying to stop his twin brother from opening a portal to the Demon World. The boss battles were challenging and the level designs looked magnificent. The combat was fast paced and the puzzle games in DMC3 was something that people were generally impressed by. However, one of the biggest issues that some people had with Devil May Cry 3 was that the game was too hard. While Devil May Cry 3 may not have been as difficult as Dark Souls it was still the most challenging installment within its series.

Despite, what people have to say about the overall difficulty of Devil May Cry 3 the game had cool cutscenes and and voice over acting by PlayStation 2 standards. It should be noted that Devil May Cry 3 probably had the best version of Dante and it was a game that made him standout as one of Capcom’s most popular characters. Even though, Devil May Cry 3 was not the best selling entry within the DMC franchise it still managed to sell around 1.3 million copies on the PlayStation 2. There are many believe that Capcom should have done an HD remake for Devil May Cry 3 years ago considering the cult impact its had on the gaming community. Devil May Cry 3 was a game that felt like it was ahead of its time and is looked upon more fondly by many people than its 2008 successor DMC4. While Devil May Cry 4 had better graphics on the PS3 and a superior combat system DMC3 gave players access to more weapons. Devil May Cry 3 is one of various games from the mid 2000’s that aged like fine wine over the past fifteen years and its long overdue for a current generation remake on the PlayStation 5.
