One of the biggest things to come out of the Nintendo’s Direct 2024 was a gameplay trailer Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has been confirmed for a release in 2025 but there is no official date for it. The graphics and gameplay look absolutely amazing and some are questioning whether or not it ran on the Switch or Nintendo’s next generation game system. Metroid Prime 4 has been in developmental hell since it was first announced by Nintendo back in 2017. Its good to know that Nintendo had rehired Retro Studios to work on Metroid Prime 4 especially since the worked on the first three Prime games that came out during the 2000’s. Along with how great Metroid Prime 4: Beyond looked one of the biggest take aways from the trailer was the return of Samus Aran’s arch-nemesis Sylux who appeared in the Metroid: Bounty Hunter for Nintendo DS back in 2004.

Its been heavily implied that Sylux will be the main villain in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond but the details surrounding the plot for the game are scare at the moment. There were many people who believed that Nintendo was never going to make a Metroid Prime 4. During a majority of 2010’s decade many had believed that the Metroid series was close to being dead until Metroid Dread came out back in 2021. Metroid Dread was a commercial success reaching more than three million in sales on the Switch. The popularity of Metroid Dread is a sign that the Metroid series in general is still one of Nintendo’s most popular IP’s. The anticipation for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is enough to make the game sell double of what the Dread game did back in 2021. Along with Grand Theft Auto VI the Metroid Prime 4: Beyond game might end up being one of the most anticipated titles of 2025.
