There is no question that Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is quite possibly one of Konami’s greatest games from the 2000’s decade. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was released for the PlayStation 2 twenty years ago and was the sequel to the critically acclaimed MSG2 title which came out in 2001. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is game that had a special appeal to it due to it being set during the 1960’s during the Cold War era between America and Russia. The other installments of Metal Gear Solid had more modernized settings while MSG3: Snake Eater had a special look and feel to it. The plot of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater concerning Naked Snake and his attempt to stop a rouge Russian scientist from developing a nuclear super-weapon was not quite as interesting as the story for MSG2. However, the The Boss’s betrayal to America the 60’s Soviet jungle setting along with the in-game mechanics of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater were all strong positives that made for an unforgettable gameplay experience.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was quite possibly the best stealth game of the mid 2000’s especially since the story itself feels like it could be a script of a science-fiction movie. Not only did Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater one of the most popular PS2 titles of its era but it also managed to reach at least 4 million copies in sales. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was definitely one of Hideo Kojima’s best pieces of work and its cool to know that it will finally get a current generation remake for PlayStation 5. Even though, Kojima will unlikely be apart of the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake its great that Konami realizes how much of classic the game is while giving current generation reimaging that it deserves.
