It seems like the Shonen Jump video game crossover series was not quite as popular as many people hoped it would be. The latest Shonen Jump crossover game that we got to see came out in 2019. Since its release about four years ago Jump Force mainly received unfavorable reviews because it fell below the expectations of many Shonen fans. While it was cool to have characters from the likes of DBZ, Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh, Bleach in one game Jump Force had the potential to be far greater than it was. Arguably the best thing about Jump Force was its visual presentation along with the star-studded roster of characters the game had. The negatives regarding Jump Force included its lackluster gameplay and poor animation during cutscenes. The story for Jump Force felt uninspired while some loading screens felt way too slow for a PS4 or Xbox One title released in 2019. Some could argue that J-Stars Victory vs from 2014 felt like a better game than Jump Force.

The story for Jump Force had so many filler fights that became repetitive and ended up detracting from the overall quality of the game itself. In terms of sales Jump Force ended up flopping despite how overhyped it was prior to its release in February 2019. Jump Force was not a horrible game but it was not necessarily a great one either. Jump Force felt like a game with a lot a sizzle but no real steak. The replay value was not there for Jump Force and the game barely felt like an upgrade from J-Stars Victory vs. There are games like Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 and Dragon Ball FighterZ that blow Jump Force outta the water in terms of gameplay and overall replay value. While the Shonen Jump Manga series is awesome the execution of J-Star Victory vs and Jump Force have been lackluster to say the least. Bandi Namco Entertainment is unlikely to release a sequel for Jump Force anytime soon due to the lack of profit the game earned within the past four years.
