Resident Evil 4: Remake has managed to become one of the most popular video games of 2023. Since its release back in March 2023 the Resident Evil 4: Remake has managed to sell more than five million copies worldwide across multiple gaming platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC. Resident Evil 4 is considered to be one of the most popular installments within the entire series next to Resident Evil 2 and the success of the most recent remake does not come as a surprise to many gaming critics. When the original version of Resident Evil 4 came out back in 2005 it was on the GameCube console and it stood out heavily from many other titles feature on Nintendo’s sixth generation console because of its “M” rating. You rarely see a ton high profile survival horror games on Nintendo consoles which is something that added to the appeal of Resident Evil 4 when it first appeared on GameCube during the mid 2000’s. The question is whether or not the Resident Evil 4: Remake would stand out on the Switch console or even Nintendo’s next generation game system if Capcom decided to make it reality. There have been rumors circulating on the internet that the “Switch 2” is supposed to be as powerful as the PlayStation 5 meaning that it will be able to run Resident Evil 4: Remake at 4K 1080p. Resident Evil 4: Remake is definitely one of those games that could end up becoming one of the most popular survival-horror titles on Nintendo’s next generation system. While potential Switch 2 port of Resident Evil 4: Remake is something many people would love we all know that one of Capcom’s main goals right now involves the development of RE9 which is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
