The 2010’s decade that many people are going to have fond memories about considering the masterpieces that we got to see on consoles like the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. But when we think about some of the most popular video games of the 2010’s one of the few titles that instantly comes to mind is Capcom’s Monster Hunter: World. During the 2010’s decade it seemed like the Resident Evil series had declined in popularity compared to where it was during the 2000’s. Despite, the decline in popularity of the Resident Evil main series Capcom’s Monster Hunter series became more popular especially from 2018 onwards. Monster Hunter: World not only received universal praise from gaming publishers but its a game managed to reach over 19 million copies in sales. One of the biggest criticisms about Monster Hunter: World was its difficulty curve along with the main story being longer than it needed to be. While attacking and destroying giant monsters with weapons sounds fun in theory the truth is Monster Hunter: World was more complicated than one would initially expect. Monster Hunter: World would challenge players psychologically because the would have to learn and anticipate attack patterns from certain monsters in order to defeat them. Also, players had to use the right weapons when going against certain creatures to have any type of hope of surviving. Players were able to craft weapons and armor from monsters they killed and as they progressed through the game which was one key things that people love about Monster Hunter: World. The game felt like a cross between Jurassic Park and Horizon Zero Dawn and the ecological experience that Monster Hunter: World provided made it feel very realistic. While Monster Hunter: World might not have the allure that other Capcom games have such as Devil May Cry V its one of those games that will challenge players to get better.
