The Super Mario series is considered to be legendary and it spawned so many games to a point where many people have lost count of how many entries there are. One of the few entries within the Mario series that hardly ever get talked about is the Game Boy title from ’89 Super Mario Land. The reason why Super Mario Land was a big deal following its release was because it was the first portable Mario game during an era where handheld consoles was considered to be new. Super Mario Land was also a big deal because it was one of the first major spin-off platform entries within the Mario series. The setting for Super Mario Land took place in a fictional land called Sarasaland opposed to the Mushroom Kingdom where everything normally takes place. Also, opposed to rescuing Princess Peach Mario had to rescue Princess Daisy from an evil spaceman named Tatanga. Super Mario Land had twelve levels which were located in four different worlds. Super Mario Land ended up becoming one of the best selling video games for Game Boy following its release reaching 18 million in sales. Super Mario Land ended up selling more than just about every game on the SNES console with the exception of Super Mario World which reached over 20 million in sales. Despite, not being as iconic Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins the original Super Mario Land game definitely deserved a remake for a home console.
