There is no question that the Switch console has been one of Nintendo’s most popular game systems in recent memory. Since its release back in ’17 the Nintendo Switch has managed to reach 125 million sales and it has been around for over six years now. The Switch is a pretty unique game system and it seems like Nintendo is now taking about their next generation game system. The news has recently broke that Nintendo’s President Shuntaro Furukama plans on utilizing the online accounts that more than 290 million of their customers use to help people transition into their next game generation console. This idea is being coined as a “smooth transition” from the Switch to Nintendo’s next generation game console and has people wondering whether or not emphasis on cloud-based gaming is in the corporation’s future. It seems like hardware consoles might soon become obsolete going into the 2030’s because of how much technology is evolving in general. Many are expecting Nintendo to reveal their next generation console sometime before 2026. Hopefully, Nintendo will provide the world with more insight on what to expect in relation to their upcoming gaming platform between now and next year.
