Its hard to believe that Sonic Battle was released 20 years ago on the Game Boy Advance. There are many people who are unaware of Sonic Battle mainly because it was a spin-off game within the Sonic series. Sonic Battle came out about two years following the release of the critically-acclaimed Sonic Adventure 2 back in 2001. Since its release Sonic Battle was obviously overshadowed by numerous Pokemon and Mario Advance games that came out on the Game Boy Advance during the 2000’s. Sonic Battle was one of the first fighting games within the Sonic series that we got to see since Sonic Fighters from 1996. However, unlike Sonic Fighters had an actual storyline involving the key characters from the series during 00’s including: Sonic The Hedgehog, Tails Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, Amy Rose, Shadow The Hedgehog, Rogue The Bat, Cream The Rabbit and Dr. Eggman. Sonic Battle was one of the most creative 2D fighting games to have appeared on the Game Boy Advance during the mid 2000’s and it was a game that definitely deserved more credit than it got following its release two decades ago. Despite, how fun Sonic Battle was Sonic Team or Sega has never really considered remaking or re-releasing it within the past two decades. Most of the Sonic games from the Game Boy Advance are highly underrated and its surprising that Sega never really did anything with it. While Sonic Battle definitely deserves to be remastered its something that is unlikely to happen; mainly because Sega is focusing on current projects involving new games and the continuation of the Sonic Prime Netflix series.
