Did Uncharted rival Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie in popularity?

To of the most popular video games to have emerged to from 2022 was Uncharted and the Sonic the Hedgehog movies. Both movies we huge box office success and reached over $400 million following their respective releases. However, it should be noted that the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie managed to sell slightly more than Uncharted by reaching roughly around $405.4 in box office revenues. The Uncharted movie reached roughly over $401 million in box office revenue. However, before its respective release it felt like Sonic the Hedgehog 2 had attracted more mainstream attention especially considering how popular the 2020 prequel was. The Sonic the Hedgehog series has been around since the early 90’s and the Uncharted franchise has existed since the late 2000’s. We got to see Sonic the Hedgehog games across multiple consoles within the past three decades while the Uncharted series remained exclusively on PlayStation consoles for the most part within the past fifteen years. While the Uncharted movie from 2022 may not have necessary surpassed Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in popularity: it was still the most popular adult-themed video game from past year. The Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie was more geared towards children along within that of a family-friendly audience which was probably one of the reasons why it surpassed the Uncharted movie in box office revenue.
