Why Resident Evil: Death Island is a big deal

It seems like 2023 is going to be a big year for the Resident Evil series especially considering how popular RE4: Remake has been since its release back in March. Resident Evil 4: Remake has been a massive success and has managed to reach over four million copies in worldwide sales within its first two weeks While Resident Evil 4 is most likely going to remain the most popular survival-horror video game of 2023; the Resident Evil: Death Island movie has the potential to one of the best video game movies of this year behind the Super Mario Bros. film which came out on April 5th. Resident Evil: Death Island will be distributed by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and will be produced by TMS Entertainment and Quebico. Resident Evil: Death Island is set to be released in Summer 2023 on July 7th and will be a film that consists of CGI animated graphics which highly resembles some of the most recent video games within RE series. We already know that the setting of Resident Evil: Death Island will follow the events of the RE6 game and RE:Vendetta movie and will include a suspenseful storyline. The film will include iconic characters from the Resident Evil series including Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers and Claire Redfield. The film focuses on Chris Redfield trying to find the source of a mysterious zombie outbreak that occurs in California which is tied to visitors traveling from Alcatraz Island. The trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil film looks very impressive and has the potential to be one of the best video game based films of the 2020’s decade.
