343 Industries no longer producing Halo games?

There have been many people have been questioning on what is going to happen after Bungie was purchased by Sony for $3.6 million back in July 2022. Its common knowledge that 343 Industries had developed the most recent installment within the Halo series back in ’21. As of late there have been rumors online that they 343 Industries will no longer be producing Halo games due to Sony’s recent acquisition which raises a ton of speculation about the future of the legendary first person shooter franchise. It should be noted that one of the directors for Halo: Infinite was Joseph Staten who have worked for Bungie in the past but is currently employed by 343 Industries. If Staten is not working on the next major installment in the Halo series one has to wonder how different the sequel to Halo Infinite would look on the PlayStation 5. Even though, Sony currently owns Bungie the original developer of the Halo series it has been reported by IGN that Pierre Hintze the studio head of 343 Industries had confirmed in a Twitter message that the company will continue working on future installments within the Halo series.

Pierre Hintze shared the following message on Twitter “Halo and Master Chief are here to stay. 343 Industries will continue to develop Halo now and in the future, including epic stories, multiplayer, and more of what makes Halo great.” Its uncertain on how 343 Industries will influence the creation of future installments of the Halo series but it does not change the fact that Pierre Hintze will still be absent in the production process; considering the fact that he is leaving 343 Industries to rejoin Xbox Publishing. There is no current time table on when the next Halo game is going to be released but it will be interesting to see how Sony is going to handle the production prior to its upcoming release
