Should Tekken 8 be the finally entry within its series?

One of the most highly anticipated video games in relation to the fighting genre right now is Tekken 8. While there are many people who are anxious to see the release of Street Fighter VI in 2023 everyone was very excited about the reveal trailer that Bandi Namco had showcased back in September 2022. Based on what we know Tekken 8 is going to be available for multiple game systems including the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and will also be available to PC users as well. We also know that Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima are two characters that have been confirmed to appear in Tekken 8 based on the trailer we saw of the two fighting each other. In Tekken 7, we seemingly witnessed the demise of long time Tekken character Heihachi Mishima when Kazyua had tossed him off a mountain into a pool of lava. Obviously, Kazyua’s actions were motivated by vengeance after what Heihachi attempted to murder him back in the Tekken 2 game from ’95. However, everyone knows that Kazuya had done the same thing in the original Tekken arcade game from ’94.

Now that Heihachi Mishima is out of the picture the former head of the Mishima Zaibatsu Jin Kazama is expected to return to Tekken 8 as the main character to confront the Head of the G Corporation Kazuya Mishima following apparent demise of his grandfather. We are still lacking in details in relation on what the story is going to be for Tekken 8 and we are still in the dark on what the roster for the game is going to look like. In fact, an official release date has yet to be revealed for Tekken 8 but many are expecting the game to be released sometime in 2024 at the latest. There longtime fans of the series who believed that Tekken 7 from 2015 was going to be the final entry within series until it became one if the most commercially successful entries within its series. Tekken 7 had managed to reach at least 9 million copies in sales within the past seven years and rivals the likes of Tekken 3 in terms of overall popularity. There has been a ton of speculation about Tekken 8 possibly being the final entry within series especially since one of the key characters of the main storyline within the series was killed off in the latest installment.
