Halo Infinite- Most popular first person shooter of 2021?

Halo Infinite was without a doubt one of the most popular video games of 2021. Despite, being exclusively for the Xbox Series X Halo Infinite made headlines within the gaming world before and after its respective release back in November 2021. Since its release at least 20 million people have played Halo Infinite especially since its a game that fans of the series had been waiting to see since the release of Halo: Guardians which came out back in 2015. While Halo: Guardians was also was also considered be critically acclaimed due to its strong multiplayer game mode there were many people who disliked the story of the game itself. In fact, there are some people who would go on record and argue that Halo 4 from 2012 was more compelling and had a better story than that of Halo 5: Guardians. 343 Industries had managed to create a well rounded Halo game that had a single-player campaign with stunning visuals which ended up becoming one of the best entries within the entire series Since Halo 3 from 2007. If anything the Infinite game revitalized the interest that many casuals once had in the series because for a majority of the 2010’s the series was not nearly as popular as it was during the 00’s decade. While 2021, also saw the release of a few high profile first person shooter games including Back for Blood and Call of Duty: Vanguard; it felt like more people were hyped about Halo: Infinite than any other title within that genre. While Call of Duty: Vanguard is a fun FPS there were definitely far better entries within the series including the first two Black Ops games from ’10-’12 and CoD: WWII from 2017. Halo: Infinite definitely the best game that Xbox Game Studios had published in ’21 and will probably go down as one of the best FPS video games of the 2020’s decade.
