
It seems like we are getting more animated video game adaptions as time goes by especially considering what has already been confirmed for the future with the likes of a new season and Castlevania along with a new Tekken anime. It was recently announced that Onimusha the legendary hack n slash video game which appeared on the PS2 back in ’01 will be getting an anime adaption sometime in 2023. Onimusha: Warlords for the PlayStation 2 was actually a commercial success for the PS2 during the early 00’s and managed to earn Capcom at least $28 million in sales following its release. The Onimusha anime is going to be produced at Sublimation Studio and will be directed by Shinrya Sugai with Takashi Miike as the the Chief Director. For those who are fans of ancient Japanese history the anime will focus on the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi as the main protagonist who was also a guest character Onimusha: Warlords. The Onimusha anime is set to feature 2D hand drawn artwork and breathtaking action which captures the vibe of the of the Edo period during the which occurred in Japan between the early 1600’s-late 1860’s. The official release date of Onimusha has yet to be revealed and a synopsis for the upcoming anime has yet to be revealed but its going to be one of the biggest Capcom related animated television series that we have seen in while.
