he Devil May Cry video game series has been around for more than 20 years now with the original game appearing on the PlayStation 2 back in 2001. Since ’01 the Devil May Cry series has become one Capcom’s most popular video game franchises of the 00’s decade along with Resident Evil. The latest installment within Devil May Cry series was DMC 5 which appeared on multiple game systems back in ’19. Since its release back in ’19 Devil May Cry 5 has been seen by critics as one of the most successful entries within the entire series. While everyone has their own respective opinion on which DMC title was the best many people can neutrally agree that the series definitely deserves its own anime. In fact, there were rumors circulating on the internet back in late 2021 that a Devil May Cry animated series was set to go into production early this year. So far we have no seen any footage regarding a new Devil May Cry anime and the idea is that might not be released until second half of 2023 or even 2024 for that matter. There are some who believe that the Devil May Cry anime will also appear on Netflix similar to that of Tekken: Bloodlines and Castlevania. The details regarding the upcoming Devil May Cry anime are still pretty vague right now and there has not been too much talk about it as of late. It was confirmed by Adi Shankar who will be producing the DMC anime the scripts for the first season were finished and that would consist of eight episodes. Considering the fact, that Adi Shankar had confirmed this information back in November 2021 it would not be surprising if we saw the Devil May Cry animated series appear sometime before the end of 2023.
