There are many people who are aware of the fact that the Mortal Kombat series has been around for 30 years now. Ever since its ’92 inception we have seen many iconic characters emerge from the Mortal Kombat series including Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Raiden, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Kitana, Milenna and many more. When its comes down to popular villain characters from the Mortal Kombat series names like Shao Kahn, Quan Chi, Kano, Sindel and Shang Tsung instantly comes to mind; since they have been featured in the most popular installments within the entire series. There were numerous entries within the Mortal Kombat series that are considered to be iconic including MK I-III along with Deadly Alliance, MK9 and MK10. However, Mortal Kombat 4 from ’97 is an entry that is often overlooked and was the title where Shinnok made his debut as the main antagonist of that game. Shao Kahn was obviously more popular than Shinnok considering the fact that he was the main villain for Mortal Kombat 2 & 3. There are many who would argue that in some ways Shinnok was more dangerous than Shao Khan considering the fact that he was a fallen god who wanted to cause death and mass destruction across all realms. Shao Khan on the other hand was obsessed with ruling both Outworld along with EarthRealm and threatened to destroy anyone who stood in his way. While Shinnok did appear in Mortal Kombat X back in ’15 he had been absent in a variety of installments within the series; so there are many casuals who are not as familiar with him in comparison to Shao Kahn or Shang Tsung. But there is no question that Shinnok is one of most fearsome antagonists of the Mortal Kombat universe considering the fact that he was a massive threat to almost everyone. Shinnok was not quite as tough as Shao Khan in relation to being a final boss but his goals and intentions were more deadly overall.
