There are many people in the gaming world who talking about Sony’s most recent State of Play broadcast which featured several upcoming games including Street Fighter 6, Resident Evil 4: Remake along with Final Fantasy XVI. There is no question that people have been waiting for the upcoming release of Final Fantasy XVI since the mid 10’s following the release of the FFXV. The trailer for Final Fantasy XVI looked very impressive in terms of presentation, voice acting and visual design. Final Fantasy XVI has a darker theme than its ’16 predecessor and has a more medieval them to it with a compelling storyline and scary creatures to capture the interest of many people. The main character of Final Fantasy XVI is Clive Rosfield who is the firstborn child of the Archduke of Rosaria which is one of the factions that rule the world within the game. The factions within FFXVI that run the world include the Grand Duchy of Rosaria, Holy Empire Of Sanbreque, Kingdom of Waloed, Dhalmekian Republic, Iron Kingdom and the Crystalline Dominion. The main setting of Final Fantasy XVI takes place in the fictional land of Valisthea which falling close to conflict due to the emergence and spread of deadly disease known as Blight.
There are monsters known as Eikons that play a heavy role within the story of Final Fantasy XVI and can only be summoned by Dominants. Based on what we known Dominants are monsters that can be manifested through certain humans and Rosfield wants revenge on a Eikon known as Ifrit for tragic events from the past that has negatively affected him. Along with Ifrit there were several other Eikons that were introduced in this most recent trailer of FFXVI including Titan, Garuda, Ramuh, Shivia, Odin and Bahamunt. There are other deuteragonists that will be featured in Final Fantasy XVI including Joshua Rosfield the younger brother of Clive and the gatekeeper to Eikon known as Phoenix; along with Jill Warrick who is the sister of both Clive and Joshua. The June 2nd trailer for Final Fantasy XVI featured action role-playing gameplay similar to that of FFXV with battles taking place with enemies in real-time. Its been confirmed that Final Fantasy XVI is going to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive and not be appearing on last generation consoles. Its a bit shocking that Final Fantasy XVI is not set to be released on other game systems considering the fact the FFXV appeared on the Xbox One and PC following its release years ago. While there is no official release date right now for Final Fantasy XVI it should noted that Square Enix is currently aiming for a worldwide release sometime in Summer 2023.
So they made a final fantasy about a pandemic during the pandemic??? 🤣
