As many people know the shooter genre of gaming has bee popular since the 2000’s with the rise of popular franchises such as Gran Theft Auto, Call of Duty, Halo, Gears of War and others. The popularity of the shooter genre of gaming has seemingly increased throughout the 10’s with titles such as Grand Theft Auto V along with the Call of Duty: Black Op series which pronates back in 2010. As far as popularity is concerned it does not seem like the first or third person shooter genre will be declining anytime soon. Especially considering the fact that online multiplayer gameplay is a bigger deal now than it was back in the 2000’s.

Online multiplayer gameplay has been a big deal with some of the more recent games that have been released for consoles line the PS4 and the Xbox One. Titles such as Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Fortnite have attracted a ton of mainstream attention and have sold millions worldwide since their respective releases. The shooter genre of gaming is only going to become more popular in the 20’s decade especially since its a genre that Americans seem to enjoy just as much as RPG’s or action-adventure titles.
