There were so many games that were popular back in the late 80’s-early 90’s that appeared on the Mega Drive/Sega Genesis consoles which never to see on Dreamcast. Those who were fans of the Strider series back in the early 90’s often wondered why Capcom never developed a Strider game for the late 90’s for the Sega Dreamcast Seeing how popular earlier the series was when it first started. While we never got a Strider game for the Sega Dreamcast in the late 90’s we did get one which was released in Japanese arcade centers in 1999 before it was ported to the PS1 in 2000.

Despite, the Strider game of the late 90’s receiving decent reviews by critics there is no question that the game could have stood out more as a Dreamcast exclusive. In fact, Dreamcast did not have too many big games aside from Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Shenmue and Crazy Taxi. Making Strider a Dreamcast exclusive could of added to the overall appeal of the Strider ’99 game. But on the other hand the PS1 was becoming increasingly popular so putting the Strider ’99 game on the 32-bit console made more sense especially during the year 2000.
