We have seen so many Dragon Ball Z games on various consoles since the early 90’s. Out of the various games that we have seen on systems such as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, PS1, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS4, etc. Back in the 2000’s the Budokai series was very popular and successful on consoles such as the PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo Wii since all three games had high replay values. In fact, Budokai series was arguably as popular in the 00’s as the Xenoverse series has been in the 10’s decade. There are some who believe that the Xenoverse series could have definitely worked during the 00’s especially considering the amount of creativity that when into the storylines for both games.

While the Budokai series generally followed the cannon and non-cannon sagas from show along with the movies after some would argue that it was becoming repetitive which was also something that critics would emphasize in titles such as Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi which came out in 2011. In a sense the Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse series was like a breath of fresh air to many people who have followed the series for years who wanted to see something new.

Since the Dragon Ball Xenoverse series started back in 2015 the two games has managed to reach over 10 million units worldwide in terms of sales. While the quality of gaming in the 00’s was inferior compared to what we have now there no question that the first two Xenoverse games would have been successful during that time period.
