There has been many big announcements this year involving upcoming video games for next year. One of the most recent announcements involving the return of the Samurai Showdown series is one that caught many people by surprise. It was just revealed hours ago that a new title developed by SNK called Samurai Spirits will be appearing in 2019. This announcement by SNK was accompanied by a reveal trailer involving gameplay footage of Samurai Spirits. The 2D gameplay and the visuals for Samurai Spirits looks promising as setting takes place in the later part of the 18th century.

The Samurai Showdown series has been on a hiatus for at least a decade. The latest major game that we saw in the series was Samurai Showdown: Edge of Destiny was was released back in 2008 for the Xbox 360. Since then SNK released the Samurai Showdown Anthology outside of Japan in countries such as America in Europe for the PS2, Nintendo Wii along the the PSP. Many people who have been fans of the Samurai Showdown series since 1993 will most likely be looking forward to the release of Samurai Spirits next year.
