When it comes down to classic racers developed by Sega that is considered to be a classic one of the few titles that comes to mind is Up ‘N Down which was first released back in 1983. This racing maze game seemed like it was ahead of its time during the 80’s considering the fact that it utilized a pseudo-3D perspective. The game had a rather simple objective which involved players collecting 10 flags by running them over with a buggy. Since its initial release back in the early 80’s Up ‘N Down has been ported for Atari 2600, Atari 8-Bit along with the Commodore 64.

Some might find it a bit strange that the game was never re-released for the Sega Mega Drive Console back in the late 80’s. But then, again it seemed like gaming was starting to rapidly evolve going into the early 90’s as maze games such a Up ‘N Down seemed too simplistic and racing titles like Outrun was starting to become more popular. While remaking the original Up ‘N Down game would be a treat to those who are huge fans it seems unlikely that it will ever happen. Sega has no plans on really doing anything with the classic racing title as company is working on many other projects as of right now.
