There has been so much interesting news in relation to gaming as of late. However, THQ Nordic acquisition of the TimeSplitters series is something that may have come as a surprise to many people. The TimeSplitters series first began in October 2000 on the PlayStation 2 and was a huge success to a point where it spawned sequels. As far as first person shooter titles are concerned the TimeSplitters Trilogy was probably one of the most successful franchises of the 00’s. Ever since its latest game TimeSplitters: Future Perfect which was released back in March 2005 the game had never received a direct sequel.

Also, it seemed like TimeSplitters: Future Perfect would never receive a sequel especially after the video game developer Free Radical Design became defunct back in summer of 2014. However, with THQ Nordic now owning the rights to the TimeSplitter series a sequel is now possible. So this raises the question on whether or not we will see another TimeSplitters game in the near future.
