There are countless games that are coming up on the July Nintendo Switch as we get closer to 2019. One of the few games that was just recently announced for the Nintendo Switch is an old school 2D sports titles which originally appeared on the Neo Geo back in the 90’s entitled Windjammers. Throughout, 90’s Windjammers remained a Japanese exclusive following its arcade release back in 1994 and since then has been ported for consoles such as the Neo Geo, Neo Geo CD between 1994-1995. During the 10’s decade Windjammers has also been ported to the Wii Virtual Console back in 2010.

About a year ago Windjammers was ported to the PlayStation 4 along with the PlayStation Vita in August 2017 and received a worldwide release outside of Japan. Despite, the video game developer Data East becoming defunct back in the early 00’s seeing Windjammers on the Nintendo Switch is on the PS4 and the Nintendo Switch is something that many people find interesting. The gameplay for Windjammers is something that resembles ultimate frisbee and looks like something that could of been more popular had it been released outside of Japan during the 16 bit era of gaming back in the early 90’s. The release date for the Switch version of Windjammers has yet to be revealed but is definitely a game worth checking out if you are retro gamer who is a fan of 2D sports titles from the 16 bit era in general.
