In relation to the farm simulation genre gaming both Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon: Light of Hope are probably two of the biggest titles out right now for multiple game consoles. While the Harvest Moon series is considered to be legendary and continues to impress it audience with more realistic gameplay in relation to the farm simulation genre some would argue that the latest game within the series has recently be outshined by Stardew Valley. Since its initial release back in February 2016 Stardew Valley has managed to sell at least 3.5 million copies worldwide.

In fact, Stardew Valley reportedly had more success than Call of Duty did on Steam back in 2016 while earning over $30 million in revenue. This not to say that Harvest Moon: Light of Hope was not a success seeing how the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions of the game were well received by critics as well. However, if Stardew Valley eventually becomes a series due to its level of popularity then the Harvest Moon series series will definitely have some serious competition in relation to the farm simulation genre of gaming.
