When it comes down to video game consoles from the 90’s we got a chance to see some legendary game systems such as the Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, PS1, Nintendo 64 along with Dreamcast. One of the few consoles from the 90’s that does not get talked about as much is the Neo Geo AES. There are many who would argue that the Neo Geo AES was overshadowed by various other game systems throughout the 90’s which was a real shame considering that it was one of the best consoles to play 2D titles on. Its quite possible that the Neo Geo AES would have had more success than it did if the console was released during the 80’s opposed to 1990.

The Neo Geo AES could have definitely sold more in the 80’s if the price was less than $649.99. If SNK had handled the pricing for the Neo Geo AES better than they did during the 90’s it could have sold more than it did. The competition between companies such Sony, Nintendo and Sega was fierce back in the 90’s and it seems unlikely that SNK would have struggled more in gaming industry back in the 80’s.
