There is no doubt that almost anyone who owned a PlayStation 2 back in the 2000’s has heard or even played Gran Theft Auto: San Andreas. Following its initial release back in October 2004 GTA: San Andreas had managed to sell over 17 million copies worldwide. In fact GTA: San Andreas is regarded as the best selling video game for the PlayStation 2 in general. Along with being on the PS2 San Andreas was also ported for Xbox, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in the 00’s and were also popular on those consoles as well.

Despite how popular GTA: San Andreas was during the 00’s the game was never ported for the Nintendo Wii or even GameCube during that decade. On one hand a Wii or GameCube port of GTA: San Andreas would have been awesome. However, since first party games seem to sell more on Nintendo based consoles in general GTA: San Andreas would not have sold as much on the Wii or the Nintendo GameCube during the 00’s. RockStar was never really interested in releasing GTA titles on Nintendo based consoles during the 00’s. Since PlayStation and Xbox consoles tend to have more games that targets adults it made more since to keep GTA on those game systems.
