As many of us know Metroid Prime 4 was not at E3 2018 which is something that fans of the Metroid series are probably bummed about in general. Despite, the announcements made last year about Metroid Prime 4 appearing on the Nintendo Switch we have yet to see a reveal trailer or actual footage of the game itself. It’s quite possible that Metroid Prime 4 is still in the early phases of development especially since we still have no idea on what the plot of the game is about.

At this point its unpredictable when Metroid Prime 4 will be released for the Nintendo Switch. When Nintendo released the very first Metroid Prime game it was about nine years after Super Metroid was released for the SNES in 1993. Not only was the original Metroid Prime one of the most highly anticipated titles for the Nintendo GameCube it was one of the best selling games of 2002. When Nintendo had skipped the N64 to release Metroid Prime for GameCube it added to the overall excitement and anticipation for its release. However, seeing how popular the Switch console is it would not make too much sense for Nintendo to release Metroid Prime 4 on a next generation game systems especially since its still new. It’s possible that we might learn more about Metroid Prime 4 in next year’s E3 event.
