When it comes down to popular fighting titles in the history of gaming it’s almost impossible not to mention the Mortal Kombat series. Over the years we have seen Mortal Kombat movies specifically during the 90’s. We got to see the very first Mortal Kombat movie back in 1995. Following the release of the very first MK movie we got to see Mortal Kombat Annihilation back in 1997. If you were a fan the Mortal Kombat series back in the 90’s then you probably agree that the series deserved much better than what it got outside of gaming during that time period.

The first animated series that Mortal Kombat has was back in 1996 and was not well received by too many people. Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm was considered a dud by many people because it was supposed to be a kids show so the violence which defines the series has a whole was absent. MK: Defenders of the Realm has only lasted for a few months in 1996 before it eventually disappeared. If the Mortal Kombat series had its own adult modern themed anime it would definitely be something that would turn heads within the gaming world.
