There is no doubt that there are many Sonic the Hedgehog titles that the world would love to see on the Nintendo Switch besides Sonic Mania. As far as retro 2D Sonic games are concerned Sonic the Hedgehog 4 may not be on the top of everyone list. Some would probably prefer to see the Sonic the Hedgehog Trilogy from the Sega Genesis on the Nintendo Switch before Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

But to be fair Sonic the Hedgehog 4 was actually a pretty decent game. Long time fans of the Sonic the Hedgehog series had a chance to experience a 2D Sonic game with 3D graphics which was something that Sega should have done long before 2010. While Sonic the Hedgehog for initially received some mainstream attention prior to its release many would argue that the game was not quite as popular as its predecessor Sonic the Hedgehog 3 from the early 90’s. While seeing Sonic the Hedgehog 4 on the Nintendo Switch would be pretty cool there is a good chance that will not be as popular as Sonic Mania.
