As many people know Star Fox 2 was recently released for the SNES Classic in the Fall of 2017. For the most part Star Fox 2 was considered to be a success by various gaming publications and was arguably one of the best 16 bit games to have never been released during the 90’s. In fact there are some who wonder whether or not Star Fox 2 would have had a much success in the 90’s on the original SNES as it did on the SNES Classic.

If anything the fact that Star Fox 2 came out on the SNES Classic in 2017 helped make the game more of an attraction than it would have been in the mid 90’s. As many of us know the rise of 3D gaming with consoles such as the PS1 and the Sega Saturn started to turn people away from the 16 bit consoles such as Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. In fact having Star Fox 2 on the SNES Classic was like a gift in addition to all the other classic titles that we saw on that console.
