When it comes down to the fighting genre of gaming there is no doubt at all that 2008 was arguably one of the best years of the 00’s decade. In some ways it felt like somewhat of a revival in terms of popularity in regards to the fighting genre of gaming. In 2008, we got to see so many cool games such as Street Fighter IV, Marvel vs DC Universe, Soul Calibur IV, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm and others released that year.

There were various games that was released back in 2008 that drew eyes to the fighting genre of gaming. Throughout a majority of the 00’s shooter titles such as Grand Theft Auto, Halo, Fallout and others became very popular throughout the decade.

Even though, the fighting genre of gaming was not quite as popular in the late 00’s as it was during the 90’s it seemed like 2008 onwards was a pretty good time to be a fan in general. In relation to crossover games and video game sequels it seemed like the fighting genre was starting to make a comeback at the time. Despite, seeing various popular fighting titles during the late 00’s they had nothing on RPG or shooter games in terms of popularity.
