Nintendo Switch is without a doubt one of the most popular games consoles right now. Since it’s release the Nintendo Switch has already surpassed the Nintendo Wii-U in terms of sales and was arguably the most popular video game console of 2017. It would be pretty cool to see Sony release a hybrid game console to compete with the Nintendo Switch; but the truth is the company is much better off in producing home based consoles.

The fact that the Nintendo Switch is a hybrid console is what makes it stand out from other game systems such as the PS4 or the Xbox One. If Sony or Microsoft decides to make a console similar to the Nintendo Switch then it would probably be a sign that their home based consoles are not as popular as they should be. There is no doubt that the PS4 and the Xbox One are very popular and as of right now there is no reason for either Sony or Microsoft to stop making home based game consoles in order to make hybrid gaming systems.
