Not to long ago a 2D platform game called Celeste was released for multiple game consoles such as the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and the PS4. While some might argue that the game itself is very difficult others say that it’s the perfect platform game. If you are a retro gamer from the 80’s then it’s understandable why IGN decided to give Celeste a perfect ten in terms of overall quality. Celeste is simple yet very challenging platform title that forces players to learn from their mistakes in order to complete the game.

Back in the 8 bit era of gaming there were countless platform titles for the NES that were difficult or even impossible to complete such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Street Fighter 2010, The Final Fight and more. The idea of making a very basic yet difficult video game was something that added to the appeal of retro games back in the 80’s and early 90’s and its cool that Noel Berry and Matt Thomson was able to capture that feel with Celeste.
