When it comes down to RPG titles of the 90’s both Final Fantasy VII and Xenogears are regarded as two of the best games of that genre. But in terms of which game was better really depends on who you ask. But for the most part many people would probably agree that Final Fantasy VII was the edge over Xenogears as an RPG 90’s classic.

In terms of sales Final Fantasy VII reportedly sold over 11 million units worldwide since its release. Also, Final Fantasy VII has been remade due to popular demand and is expected to be released sometime in 2018. While Xenogears is considered to be legendary Final Fantasy VII was one of the best selling games for the PS1 next to the original Gran Turismo title. Also, Final Fantasy VII had more mainstream attention back then and even right now in comparison to Xenogears. While Xenogears is considered to be a top tier RPG title that deserves some type of remake it was not on same level as Final Fantasy VII in terms of popularity.
