There is no doubt that Power Stone 1 & 2 are just as deserving of remakes as much as the second game is deserving of a sequel. It would have been great to have seen HD Remakes for the PS3 or the Xbox 360 back in the 00’s. However, Capcom apparently had no plans to revive the Power Stone series in anyway despite the increasing demand from retro gamers.

The fact that Capcom did not bring the series back in the 00’s may be an indicator that the series may never get an HD Remake. When it comes down to the fighting genre of gaming it’s well known that it’s not quite as popular as it was back in the 90’s. Also Power Stone seem to have stood out more on the Sega Dreamcast along with being available to play in arcade centers.

Even if Capcom made HD Remakes for both Power Stone game the sales would probably fall below desired expectations since the series has been dead for over a decade. On the other hand making HD Remakes of Power Stone 1 & 2 as downloadable games for the PS4 and the Xbox One for their respective networks definitely could work out in theory and possibly in practice. When it comes down to hard copy video games first person shooters and RPG titles have dominated the 10’s decade. Making remakes of Power Stone 1 & 2 downloadable world make more sense if Capcom ever decide to make it happen.
