There is no question that the Sega Genesis was one of the most popular game consoles that the world has seen during 90’s. When it came down to the 16 bit era of gaming Sega as a company was arguably at its peak in terms of popularity with games such as the Sonic the Hedgehog series and many others.

Not to long ago it has been announced that a new game know as Xenocrisis is expected to be released sometime in 2018 both the Sega Genesis and the Sega Dreamcast. While some would argue that 16 bit gaming is obsolete in this day and age there are still many retro gamers who are still fans of old school gaming. If Sega started making 16 bit video games again then its possible that more people will become interested in what they have to offer as a company. If Kickstarter funded games like Xenocrisis and Sonic Mania can make headline news in the gaming world then Sega should be able to do the same thing with just about any 16 bit title they decide to develop for the Genesis console.
