Could Banjo Kazooie have worked on the PS1?

When it comes down to the N64 Banjo Kazooie is considered to be a classic in terms of platform games.  Since its release back in 1998 Banjo Kazooie had managed to sell over 3 million units worldwide for the N64.  But some people wonder how well Banjo Kazooie would have done in sales if the game was released for the PS1 instead.

If Banjo Kazooie was released for the PS1 there is a good chance it could have done just as well as it did on the N64.  But at the same time Banjo Kazooie would have to compete with other upcoming platform titles on the PS1 such as Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon and Rayman.  When it comes down to platform titles on the N64 Super Mario 64 and Donkey Kong 64 were titles that many people would probably prefer over Banjo Kazooie.  Either way, Banjo Kazooie for the N64 was considered to be a success and if it was released exclusively for the PS1 things may have turned out a little different.
