It was recently announced that Sony’s PlayStation 4 had took the lead in terms of hardware sales over the Nintendo Switch for the month of June in 2017.  Even though, the Nintendo Switch is still doing great in terms of sales around the world some people are questioning whether or not the new online app will be helpful in competing against Sony and Microsoft.

While the Nintendo Switch online app has been criticized by some people for features such as the online voice chat others like the concept itself.  Before the release of the Nintendo Switch online app the console itself was doing great in terms of worldwide sales against the PS4.  Even though, Sony has the lead in terms of hardware console sales for now that could possibly change sometime in the future.  Once the Nintendo Switch has more multiplayer games in addition to Splatoon 2 that utilizes the online app sales could become significantly better in the next few months.
