When it comes down to role playing Mario titles both Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG were fun games to play.  But in terms of quality and visuals nanny people are more likely to argue with that Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars was a better game than Paper Mario.  In terms of plot I was never to see a Mario game with someone else as the main villain other than Bowser.

Some people would argue that Smithy was a pretty decent antagonist  in Super Mario RPG and that he should have appeared in more Mario games. Super Mario RPG is one of those games where Nintendo decided not to go along with the basic plot formula of Mario being the main protagonist and Bowser being the main antagonist which was something we don’t see to often in today’s Mario games.
