Guilty Gear XX #Reload - The Midnight Carnival

When we think about classic 2D fighting games there are many game titles that come to mind within the Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters, Tekken and the Soul Calibur series. One of the many fighting titles that does not receive the type of recognition that it deserves is the Guilty Gear series.  While some people were fans of the Guilty Gear series when it first began during the late 90’s they are also aware that in terms of 2D gaming Guility Gear XX was a highly underrated fighting title.  When Guilty Gear XX was first released in the early 00’s by Arc System Works some people were highly impressed by various aspects of the game.  Guilty Gear XX was not only impressive in terms of gameplay and graphics but the game itself also had a high replay value that kept players busy for hours.  In terms of game modes Guilty Gear XX provided many options such as: Arcade, Training, Story, Mission and Versus mode.

The in game mechanics for Guilty Gear XX was also pretty cool because it allowed players to many things such as Overdrive Attacks, Instant Kills, Dead Angle Attacks along with the ability to enter into Super Mode.  Even though, Guilty Gear XX was a great 2D fighting game it did not sell as much as many people probably expected it to.  When it comes down to games in the Guilty Gear series there are so many cool titles to a point where its tough to choose which one is the best.  While some people would argue that the likes of Guilty Gear Xrd along with the original game for the PS1 were among the best others might argue in favor of Guilty Gear XX.  During the early 00’s the head to head fighting genre was not quite as popular as it was back in the 90’s but it was still a very cool arcade like game to have for a home console such as the PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
